A quieter and more tranquil part of the site behind existing dwellings, but close enough to use the facilities of the regenerated farmstead is an ideal spot for some holiday lodges
Predominantly 1- and 2-bedroom small scale units are carefully positioned within the open spaces of the site
Separation of the car park from the lodges will create pedestrianised areas between the buildings allowing the natural setting to be continued to be enjoyed
The lodges will have upper floors in the roof space to reduce their scale and height and will use vernacular materials to reinforce the local distinctiveness of the farm and surrounding area
The restored and rebuilt farm buildings with the listed barn being at the heart of the project. Sensitive restoration of the listed barn, farmhouseand granary will be carried out
Repurposed and rebuilt buildings providing a flexible mix of retail and artisan workshops, alongside holiday accommodation within the farmstead, ensuring the development is sustainable in the longer term
Using the buildings for shelter from the exposed siteand enhancing the ‘courtyard’ spaces between the buildings to create a pleasant and attractive environment
The Barn - removal of existing more recent lean-to structures around the listed barn will reveal and enhance the appearance of the historic building
Careful dismantling and recording and then rebuilding of the farmhouse will ensure the building can again be seen as an important historic asset to the site
